FIX:
The script $DLC/bin/pro is executing $DLC/bin/java_env which sets the right Java environment variables.
For the case you don't want to execute one of the scripts OpenEdge provides to start the client executable like pro , mpro or bpro then you have to set the right environment variables your self. For the later case you can find out which Java environment variables need to be set by adding a command which outputs all environment variables pro sets before the final exec command. This command may be different on different platforms as well as the environment variables to set.
