Application Server agent becomes unusable with several communication related errors with SQL Server DataServer
Application Server reports communications links failure and becomes unusable
The Application Server log file shows the following errors:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionWrite (send()).
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBMSLPCN]General network error. Check your network documentation
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Communication link failure
The above errors show up in app server server log file
Application Server connects to SQL server database
CAUSE:
TCP Chimney Offload feature is enabled on the server. This feature is enabled by the Windows Server 2003 Scalable Networking Pack.
FIX:
Refer to the Microsoft article 942861 for fix and/or workaround.
