FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress/OpenEdge Versions
CAUSE:
Procopy, prostrct, prodel, _dbutil, and _proutil as well as many other Progress executables perform certain system checks to validate the user attempting to use the tool has the authority to use the tool.
The validation method will attempt to validate the user account is listed in the /etc/passwd file or is authenticated by NIS.
FIX:
Use of LDAP authentication systems such as Winbind are not currently supported.
