results in an apparent hang of Eclipse.
CAUSE:
Some features of Eclipse require open, unhindered, access to the internet via TCP/IP. If the computer running Eclipse is behind a firewall, has a security setting preventing direct access, or connects through a proxy, it is possible that the Eclipse environment may appear to hang while performing a host lookup.
This has been reported when attempting to find and install updates from the Eclipse environment. This issue is specific to the Eclipse environment and is not under the control of the OE Architect plugins provided by Progress Software.
FIX:
There is no known fix besides installing on a machine with unfettered access to the internet.
