SYMPTOM(s):
Error 5057 when restoring backup from batch job
Backup failed due to EOF during next output device request. (5057)
Batch job is running non-interactively
Backup split across multiple files or devices
Issue does not happen if the backup is composed of only one file or device
CAUSE:
The restore utility is asking interactively for the name of the next backup volume and the request fails because the batch job is not interactive.
FIX:
Several workarounds are possible:
- use a single volume for the backup
- run prorest interactively
- create an input file for prorest containing the names of the backup files or devices
