CAUSE:
Share Memory configuration on system and the library files used on the system when taken in conjunction with parameters used to start database are defining memory just at the boundary of the shared memory segment on the operating system.
FIX:
Modify the shmmax size on the system to a larger number.
Possible sizes to set the shmmax to are:
134217728
268435456
The minimum segment size for Progress is listed in the documentation as 128 meg.
There are many other possiblities up to the limit of the shared memory segment size in 10.1B:
32-bit limit 4gigabyte
64-bit limit 32gigabyte
