SYMPTOM(s):
Using Progress Explorer to start a database fails with message: Progress exited with error code 1 (8619) JunMSG024.
Starting a database from the proenv command line, errors with a cannot connect to socket message.
Database starts fine without a port.
CAUSE:
McAfee anti-virus running
FIX:
Remove the McAfee anti-virus program or configure it to not touch Progress files and to allow access to all required ports.
