GOAL:
What should an example silent NetSetup setup.iss look like in Progress 10.1B?
GOAL:
What does a demo silent NetSetup response file consist of?
GOAL:
What is a working example of the setup.iss file for a 10.1B silent NetSetup?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1B
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
The following response file was created from a client machine by mapping S: to the \\hostname\share on the file server and running S:\v101b\netsetup\setup -r -f1C:\net_response\setup.iss
The contents of setup.iss file created in this manner can be used to run a silent NetSetup in Progress 10.1B.
If no path is supplied for the response file in this case it will be placed in the Windows directory on the client it is being run from.
To run the silent install with this response file use the following command with regard to the above mappings and locations:
s:\v101b\netsetup\setup.exe -s -f1C:\_netset_response\setup.iss -psclogC:\_netset_response\PSCNetSetupMsg.log
Note: You will need to modify the WorkingDir in the sample to agree with your configuration. You can verify the GUID by looking at the setup.ini file that is part of your full client install, netsetup directory.
