FACT(s) (Environment):
DataServers
SYMPTOM(s):
The protoXXX process creates an empty .sql file
The protoORA process creates an empty .sql file
The protoMSS process creates an empty .sql file
The protoODB process creates an empty .sql file
The OpenEdge Database is not migrated to the foreign data source with protoXXX utility
CAUSE:
The OpenEdge Database connected during the protoXXX process is a schema holder which has a progress database schema as well as a empty foreign database image
FIX:
Follow the steps below to accomplish the OpenEdge database migration to the foreign database:
1. Delete the foreign database empty schema image by connecting to it from the Data Administrator > Databases > Select Working Databases, and then by going to DataServer menu > appropriate foreign database utilities... > Delete DataServer Schema...
2. Perform protoXXX now (after the above step is performed the schema holder becomes a single OpenEdge database).
3. Disconnect from the OpenEdge database and connect to the schema holder that is created as a result of protoXXX.
