FIX:
There are a number of tools in the industry which support UML data modeling. These tools are too many to mention, however there are a few which are known to offer specific support for the Progress OpenEdge database. These are listed below along with the Progress version or OpenEdge release they support.
- AllFusion Erwin
Erwin is known to support Progress schema up to version 8 of the Progress Database. When using this with Releases later than 8 any new syntax must be removed from .df files prior to attempting to upload them.
- Enterprise Architect
EA is known to support OpenEdge 10.0B database schema.
- PCase
This tool, by "Tools for Progress", is written using mostly Progress/OpenEdge technology and typically supports the latest OpenEdge release.
- Database Visual Architect
This tool, by "Visual Paradigm", is known to support OpenEdge 10.x.
Note: There may be additional tools which support the OpenEdge or Progress database schemas but were not found in this study.
