Error 293 when starting Char Roundtable v8.1- bad install.
Some users encounter the following error when trying to start
character Roundtable after installation:
** RTB/G/RTBGLOVL.l was not found. (293) P
This is often followed by:
** U1/RTB/HELP.p could not understand line 4
These errors indicate that the user is hitting the uncompiled source
for Roundtable. They must run the _help.r, not the .p.
When running _update.w during the install process, it asks where you
would like the compiled programs to be placed. The default is NOT the
same place as the source code. To have the .r files placed in the
same directories as the .p code, you would blank out the install
directory name.
This is not the most intuitive portion of the install. A request has
been entered at Starbase to update the install instructions.
If you change your script to hit the _rtb.r file, you should be all
set.
