FACT(s) (Environment):
Oracle DataServer
HP-UX 11i 64-bit
Oracle 9i
SYMPTOM(s):
AppServer cannot connect to remote Oracle instance
AppServer log file contains error:
ORACLE error -1012 see "ORACLE Error Messages and Codes Manual". (1252)
Error appears in dataserv.lg file:
Unable to load shared library
Progress client (_progres) can connect to Oracle and display table information
Using 32-bit Oracle
Using 32-bit Progress / OpenEdge
Oracle environment variables have been configured to use 32-bit libraries instead of 64-bit libraries
Not using the Adminserver-administered Progress DataServer for Oracle broker
Not using Progress Explorer to administer AppServer
CAUSE:
ORASOPATHNAME in Ubroker.Properties file was pointing to a 64-bit library
FIX:
Check Ubroker.Properties file to ensure that all environment variables point to the correct libraries files.
Locate the [Environment] section and check AppServer instance to confirm that the paths are correct.
