GOAL:

How do I change the default editor for a file extension in Architect?

FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.1B

FIX:

To associate a file extension with a specific default editor in Architect do the following:

- Open Architect
- Select Preferences... from the Window menu

At this point the Preferences dialog will be displayed

- Select Editors under the General section
- Select File Associations under the Editors section
- Select the file extension you want to change from the File types list

At this point the Associated editors list at the bottom of the dialog will contain the list of editors associated the file extension you selected. The default editor will have '(default)' listed after the editors name.

If the editor that you want to make the default is listed do the following:

- Select the editor that you want to make the new default editor
- Click the Default button
- Click the OK button to save your changes and close the dialog

If the editor that you want to make the default is not listed do the following:

- Click the Add... button
- Select the desired editor from the Editor Selection dialog
- Click the OK button
- Select the editor you just added (if it is not already selected)
- Click the Default button
- Click the OK button to save your changes and close the dialog
