SYMPTOM(s):
Installing Progress Service Pack aborts with category.dll error
The following error appears:
The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open
Use procontrol to control database or other services startup or stop
filemon or process explorer lists wmiprvse.exe process using category.dll
CAUSE:
Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service is using the category.dll file.
FIX:
Stop service called Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service and restart the service pack instalation.
After the installation of the service pack finishes start WMI service back up.
