FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress/400 DataServer
SYMPTOM(s):
PROSERVER job hangs, consuming CPU time and continues to loop
Stack of the PROSERVER job displays the last procedure is QDBGETSQ within library QSYS
CAUSE:
The problem is not related to Progress, but to IBM. Upon seeing this behavior, IBM released some PTF's to fix the problem.
FIX:
Install the following PTF's.
SF49023 for V3R7
SF49174 for V4R1
SF49175 for V4R2
