SYMPTOM(s):
DOS box opens when client connects to the server on Windows.
Started on port <port> using <network-type>, pid <pid>. (5646)
The message 5646 is displayed in the DOS window
Database is being managed by ProControl running proservice.
In the services menu under control panel "Allow service to interact with desktop" is checked.
CAUSE:
When "Allow service to interact with desktop" is checked, DOS box will appear
FIX:
To solve this problem, follow the steps below:
1. Go into the control panel
2. Go into services. Look for proservice for 8.xx
3. Click on the "startup" button and make sure that "Allow service to
interact with desktop" is not checked.
