INTRODUCTION:

When installing Progress version 9 the following error could appear;
"Unable to acquire information on the file XXXXX"
The installation will seem to continue but will fail.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:

Getting the Version 9 installed requires that the CD-ROM used is
using a true Win95 driver. this can be checked in Control Panel -->
System --> Device manager --> CD-ROM. This cannot be "DOS COMPATIBLE
CD-ROM".
To fix the problem either copy the CD to the local disk or get a Win95
driver for the CD-ROM from the manufacturer. Then rerun the SETUP.EXE
