FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX
SYMPTOM(s):
Cannot start the Name Server since the system received an unexpected file system error
Machine where AdminServer is started rebooted unexpectedly
AdminServer taking a long time to start on this machine
Hostname resolves fine.
Correct version of java installed on the machine.
AdminServer does start.
Cannot start the NameServer.
Unable to connect to the AdminServer.
Unable to find NS1 (8281)
Name Server log file has not been updated since prior to the unexpected file system failures.
Cannot shut down the AdminServer.
AdminServer process hangs on shut down.
File System that is experiencing errors contains the Progress installation and broker log files.
Logical Volume Manager errors appearing in /etc/dmseg
Operating System utility fsck is not reporting any errors.
CAUSE:
Hardware problems.
FIX:
Fix hardware. Once hardware errors no longer occur, then restart the AdminServer using proadsv -start.
