Oracle error 1019,unable to allocate memory on the user side
ORACLE error 1019, unable to allocate memory in the user side",
can occur under the following conditions:
1) For customers who probuild with one version of ORACLE
and run against another version of ORACLE or for customers
that build the DataServer executables on one platform and
copy the executables to a different platform.
Customers upgrading from ORACLE to 7.2 to 7.3 need to run
Progress' probuild utility again to recreate the necessary
DataServer executables. ORACLE frequently changes the location
of functions that the Progress DataServer calls. In addition,
customers that copied the executables need to run probuild to
rebuild and link the executables.
2) For customers with two versions of Oracle installed.
In this case, the environment variables may be set incorrectly.
Before running probuild, verify the ORACLE_HOME, and
ORACLE_HOME/bin is in the PATH.
After the probuild, verify that PROEXE, PROBRKR and ORASRV are
pointing to the new executables.
To get a list of all environment variables,
run $ORACLE_HOME/bin/unixenv > output.file.
3) For customers on NT that upgraded ORACLE or reinstalled ORACLE.
Progress' PROWIN32.exe and ORASRV executables use OCIW32.DLL.
Try connecting with SQL*NET and also a loop back client.
Check to be sure the customer has at least 64 meg at least.
