Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1X
SYMPTOM(s):
Adminserver hangs on shutdown
Unable to stop adminserver
AdminServer does not stop
Large number of databases (20+) is being managed by adminserver
Large number of auxiliary processes (secondary servers, pagewriters) is being started
Modifying adminserver startup parameters does not solve the issue
admserv.log file reads
[AdminServer] Shutting down plugin Plugin.Database. (7436)
[ConnectionManager] Juniper Shutdown process initiated. (7387)
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00151256
CAUSE:
There is a thread contention - when starting a database, auxiliary processes left one or more threads active still holding thread locked. This prevented shutdown threads from gaining control resulting in a deadlock on shutdown
FIX:
Upgrade to 10.1B02
