SYMPTOM(s):
Could not bind name chimera to object
Bind failed:java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: (host.name;)
nested exception is:
[*UnexpectedError*] * recorded as exception #2 in file ads0.exp.
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information
If the localhost is used instead of machine name the admin server connects without issues
Performing an nslookup of host machine fails as does a reverse lookup.
If the network cable is unplugged then AdminService starts and is usable.
CAUSE:
DNS servers addresses were not added to network configuration when a static IP address was entered.
FIX:
If adding static IP addresses to your Windows machine and your local network is set up to use DNS for name resolution, be sure to add the DNS server addresses in the network configuration panel below the static IP address entries.
(These setting are added automatically if machine is DHCP enabled.)
