GOAL:
Does the DataServer for MS SQL Server use Native connections?
GOAL:
Is the SQL Native Client driver shipped with MS SQL Server 2005 supported for use with DataServer for MS SQL Server?
FACT(s) (Environment):
MS SQL DataServer
OpenEdge 10.1B
MS SQL 2005
Windows
FIX:
When Microsoft refers to 'native' connections, they are really talking about protocols such as ODBC, OLE-DB and ADO. As such, Progress classes the OpenEdge DataServer as using a 'native' ODBC connection.
The OpenEdge 10.1B release was the first Certification of the Native ODBC driver (SQL Native Client) that ships with MS SQL Server 2005:
SQL Native Client version 2005.90.1399.00 (Microsoft Corporation ? SQLNCLI.DLL)
