(1247) error on Character Client
If a customer reports "** Unable to open parameter file <name>,
errno <number>. (1247)" on Character Client he probably does
not have a GUI Client (Runtime, 4GL Development or
ProVision) installed. Please ask the customer to run
SHOWCFG.EXE and check to see if if another client is
installed.
Progress' Character Client product is an add-on to the regular
GUI client, it cannot be run without a GUI client installed. If a
customer elects to install only the Character Client, a number of
files will be missing and a somewhat misleading error message
of "** Unable to open parameter file <name>, errno <number>.
(1247)" is generated.
