GOAL:
What C Compiler Version Should I Run with Solaris 2.5?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Solaris 2.5
FIX:
Progress requires that the default C compiler from Sun be used. At compile time (when you run your ldpro link script) Progress uses the -Xs option for Kerrigan & Ritchie C mode. You can find the standard compiler in /usr/ucb and can verify what version it is by doing the following:
# /usr/ucb/cc -V
ucbcc: WorkShop Compilers 4.2 30 Oct 1996 C 4.2
ld: Software Generation Utilities (SGU) SunOS/ELF (LK-2.0 (S/I)
