GOAL:
OpenEdge Architect: Why are the OpenEdge Architect Customizations deleted after the installation of a new Service Pack?
GOAL:
Is there a way to prevent the loss of the OpenEdge Architect Customization created by the OpenEdge Architect Customization Editor when applying a new service pack?
GOAL:
How to save OpenEdge Architect Customizations after before applying a new Service Pack?
FIX:
When a user creates a customization using the Customization Editor, the user is prompted to enter a version number at the bottom of the editor. The system creates a new plug-in appending the version number to the plug-in. If the user specifies version 2.0, the system creates the customizations in $DLC\oeide\architect\plugins\com.openedge.pdt.extensibility.user_2.0.
If the user does not change the version, only then are the customizations is overridden during the installation of a new service pack. Therefore, to prevent customizations from being overridden, ensure that the version number of the customizations is greater than 1.0.
