Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
WebSpeed Application degrades performance as it runs multiple times
WebSpeed Application degrades performance to a point and stays steady afterwards
WebSpeed application gradually takes 3 seconds longer until it hits 8 seconds mark
Implemented Windows 2003 Load Balancing with two WebSpeed Transaction Servers
Individual server outside of Windows Load Balancing does not show performance degradation
CAUSE:
Windows 2003 Load Balancing layer maintains one additional static IP address that the end user accesses. This static IP Address is tied to each of the server's (Node) IP address in the Load balancing cluster with the priority value to maintain the Load balance. The distribution of the request by the Load Balancing software in the network may cause some delays.
FIX:
There is no fix other then not using the Windows 2003 Load Balancing. The performance of the application, in this case, is a trade-off while you are trying to use more stable environment with hardware level fault tolerance.
