GOAL:

What media do I need for SCO OpenServer 6?

GOAL:

Why do SCO OpenServer and SCO UnixWare have the same media number?

FACT(s) (Environment):

SCO OpenServer 6
Progress 9.1E

FIX:

In practice SCO OpenServer 6 and SCO UnixWare can be perceived as the same Operating system. Unless you are running the SCO OpenServer 5 operating system you should be using the SCO UnixWare media kit.
The Progress UnixWare edition supports WebSpeed and SQL RDBMS because the underlying operating system has the necessary Java features to support this added functionality, these Java features are not available on SCO OpenServer 5 systems. The SCO Media ID 177 can be installed on both SCO OpenServer 5 and 6 and SCO UnixWare but internal switches will recognize the OS edition and allow or disallow functionality like SQL RDBMS support and WebSpeed.
