Progress and Actuate Report Server on NT workstation

INTRODUCTION:
=============
How to set up and run Actuate Report Server and Progress Server on a
NT Workstation.

WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
The setup recommended by Actuate manuals and installation sheets
does not apply on workstation, only on NT Server.

PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
Setting up an NT server for Actuate Report Server includes:
Assuming Progress and Actuate RS is installed on the same machine.
Create a user with Administrator rights to use when installing the
Actuate RS. After the installation:
In the ControlPanel/Services there is 3 Actuate RS processes.
Go into Startup for each of the ARS processes and set This Account
to the user you used to install the RS.
Remember to NOT use Administrator as this user and to set the
password.
Assuming that you are logged in as the "Actuate" user:
Right click on the "My Computer" icon and choose Properties.
Go for the Environment tab to set the Progress variables.

*****HERE COMES THE BIG DIFFERENCE*****
On a NT Server you set the variables as documented, under the
User Variables for <username>.
On the NT Workstation you need to set the Progress variables under
the System Variables.
Actuate RS cant see the User Variables on a NT Workstation.
