FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1x
SYMPTOM(s):
Color coding in OpenEdge Architect does not work with Turkish settings.
Some words are not color coded by the keyword match correctly in OpenEdge Architect with Turkish regional settings.
The following words are color coded correctly.
dIsplay (Latin capital letter I)
display (small letter dotless i)
Words that are not color coded correctly are:
dIsplay (Latin capital I with dot above)
display (Latin small letter i)
The Turkish dotless 'i' is color coded correctly, but the Latin small letter 'i' is not color coded correctly.
CAUSE:
The color coding is being done after the characters have been upper cased and then matched with a keyword list.
In a Turkish environment the Turkish small letter dotless 'i' is upper cased to "I", so a keyword match can be found and the typed word is color coded.
In a Turkish environment the Latin small letter "i" is upper cased to Latin capital letter "I" with a dot above. Subsequently no match for this can be found in the keyword list, and "display" is not color coded.
FIX:
This only affects editing of words that include the Latin letter "i" in a Turkish environment.
If this is a big problem then use different regional settings.
