SYMPTOM(s):
Attempting to use Progress command-line tools, such as PROSTRCT
Error 11996 occurs
The <ARG> parameter requires a numeric argument. (11996)
The -numsep parameter requires a numeric argument. (11996)
DLC\STARTUP.PF contains list of parameters but values are missing, for example:
-d
-numsep
-numdec
Errors seen during installation
CAUSE:
A problem occurred during installation resulting in the failure of the file tailoring process; required files exist but have not been customized to the current system and installation location.
FIX:
Option #1 - Recommended
Reinstall Progress/OpenEdge and ensure that the installation completes without error
Option #2
Add values to the parameters in DLC\Startup.pf. For example:
-d dmy
-numsep 44
-numdec 46
