Kbase P123333: Missing sqlexp executable with 10.1A SQL Client Access product

Status: Verified

SYMPTOM(s):

Missing sqlexp with SQL Client Access product

sqlexp script missing from $DLC/bin directory

Complete installation of SQL Client Access

FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.1A
OpenEdge 10.1B 64-bit
Linux AMD64
OpenEdge SQL Category: SQL-92 Clients

CAUSE:

Downloaded SQL Client Access for Linux 64-BIT AMD. This download does not include the ODBC or JDBC drivers. It does however contain the libraries for ESQL-92.

FIX:

Download and install the SQL Client Access for the 32-BIT Linux platform (like Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server 2.1) and install the product into another directory. Set your DLC and PATH environment variables to point to this installation. Then use the 32-BIT sqlexp to communicate with your database that was started with your 64 bit executables. If you want to communicate with the database using ODBC. you will need to download the ODBC Supplement from the ESD site in order to obtain the 32 ODBC drivers. There isn't an ODBC Supplement available for Linux 64-BIT AMD. Therefore you will need to download an ODBC Supplement for another 32 platform that is consistent with your Operating System (like Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server 2.1 (ODBC Supplement)).

or

Download and install SQL Client Access for 10.1B. SQL Client Access for 10.1B contains both the ODBC and JDBC drivers.
