OpenEdge 10.1B

SYMPTOM(s):

WebClient

Attempting to install WebClient 10.1B

PC has a pre-existing installation of WebClient 10.1A

WebClient 10.1B installer displays Modify/Repair/Remove dialog instead of installing

CAUSE:

Bug# OE00147452

FIX:

If none of the Modify/Repair/Remove options had been selected when installing 10.1B and the installation had been exited, install using WebClient 10.1B01 or later. See below on how to obtain the 10.1B01 WebClient.
If 'Modify' had been selected during the 10.1B installation then you will first need to fix the registry keys before installing 10.1B01:
1. Run regedit. Click the Start button -> Run -> regedit.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PSC\WebClient
3. You will notice that there is a branch for 10.1A, 10.1B, and also one called "0". The string values from within "0" need to be re-created within 10.1B. You can create new String Values by clicking on the Edit -> New -> String Value menus. Once all of the String Values have been created under 10.1B, you can delete the "0" branch.
4. Install WebClient 10.1B01.

To obtain WebClient 10.1B01 (or later):
1. Upgrade your development client to 10.1B01 using the 10.1B01 OpenEdge service pack.
2. The WebClient installation found within %DLC%\webinstall\webclient\web_image directory can then be used to install the 10.1B01 WebClient.
