Apptivity: PROGRESS error 80 when adding a date in the DB

Problem Description:
====================
When using the OpenLink (or other) ODBC in combination with Apptivity
and a Progress Database, you migh run into error 80 when trying to
add a date into the database:

The month of a date must be from 1 to 12 (80).

This problem can be caused by the startup of the OIB/OID. In the
European Area, installing Progress 8.2, the startup.pf file will be
customized and -E -d dmy will be automatically added. This startup.pf
file is used by default when connecting to the database. This makes
that the Date send by Apptivity is considered to be "dmy" but
Apptivity sends the default "mdy" format as it does not know about the
display format the client is started with.

SOLUTION:
=========
Make absolutely sure that there is no displayformat specified (-d) on
the startup of the OIB/OID.
