Progress 9.x

SYMPTOM(s):

Clients reporting time as one hour behind.

Database log files showing time as 1 hour in the past.

Applied recommended OS patches for DST.

CAUSE:

SCO Operating System DST updates do not appear to be addressing DST issues embedded in the OpenServer UnixWare compatibility library.

FIX:

The problem with time ( ) for people using the UDKCompat module was reported to SCO and logged as defect report: fz534221. This defect report has been fixed with OpenServer 5.0.7 UDK Compatibility Module Update version 8.0.2Ca. The update can be downloaded from:

http://www.sco.com/support/update/download/release.php?rid=273If you are unable to apply the update to your system immediately, use the following workaround which was proposed by SCO. The workaround is associated with the setting of the TZ environment variable as follows:

Bourne shell users:
TZ="EST5EDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0" ; export TZ

Csh users:
setenv TZ "EST5EDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0"
