SYSTEM ERROR: Bus error. (48)
Error happens when accessing the "Save As" dialog
Directory contains large number of files
Directory contains files with a large number of extensions (e.g. .prn.prn.prn.prn.prn.prn)
Directory contains long file names
Issue does not happen with Progress 9 or later
Stack trace from _progres reads:
calloc
mem_get
fld_def
wvCreateFillIn
umFillRealize
umSuperRealize
umFillDisplay
CAUSE:
Some file names in the current working directory causes the dialog initialization to fail.
FIX:
Upgrade to Progress 9.x or later.
As a workaround, rename or move the files that are causing the issue to happen.
