GOAL:

Extended Daylight Savings impact on Business Objects products

FACT(s) (Environment):

Crystal Reports

FIX:

The United States has changed the Daylight Saving Time (DST) observance for 2007 due to the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This act mandates that DST will start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November.

Crystal Reports and Business Objects need to be updated to adhere to the new 2007 DST rules. Operating System and Java upgrades for US 2007 DST compliancy falls under the responsibility of the customer and not Progress Software or Business Objects. Therefore, customers should contact their operating system vendor for specific details related to their environment. Similarly, customer systems that utilize a Java environment must be patched. Operating system patched need to be applied before Business Objects patches will take effect.

The following Business Objects products sold by Progress need to be patched:
Crystal Reports XI
Crystal Reports XIR2
Business Objects 10
Business Objects XI
Business Objects XIR2

Crystal Reports 9, Crystal Reports 10, and Crystal Enterprise 9 have passed their patch-support expiration, and will not be patched. For patch downloads and for more details and Impact of 2007 DST rules on Business Objects deployments, visit:
