GOAL:
Why do .w files open in the Architect Editor instead of the AppBuilder?
GOAL:
Why do .w files open in the Architect Editor when double-clicked?
GOAL:
Must I switch to the AppBuilder perspective in order to open a .w in the AppBuilder?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1B
Windows
FIX:
OpenEdge Architect was specifically designed to open a .w file in one of two ways. If the AppBuilder perspective is active double-clicking a .w from the projects file list will open the .w in the AppBuilder. If the AppBuilder perspective is not active double-clicking a .w file from the projects file list will open the .w in the Editor Perspective. This was done to allow a developer who needed to make a few code changes to a .w to open the file in the Editor and make the changes without incurring the overhead of running the AppBuilder.
