SYMPTOM(s):
Starting Progress application that connects to a DataServer
Application is launched from within a Citrix session
Error 5177 is generated when the session starts
Registry error : Could not add message file '' to the Event Viewer. (5177)
Registry error 5: Could not add message file 'PROMSGS.DLL' to the Event Viewer. (5177)
Application starts and runs as expected after clicking OK to clear the error
Problem affects new users only
Error does not appear when connecting Client/Server (i.e. not using Citrix)
CAUSE:
Folder containing the schema holder files was set to read-only access
FIX:
Grant Full Control to Everyone on the Schema Holder files
