SYSTEM ERROR: wrong BI blk, write <dbkey> into <dbkey>(1120)
INTRODUCTION:
=============
SYSTEM ERROR: wrong BI blk, write <dbkey> into <dbkey> (1120)
when restoring a backup on a SCO machine.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
This error has been noticed on a SCO machine when restoring a backup
from tape that has been taking with progress backup utility probkup.
If before doing a probkup to tape you set the tape block size to a
specified byte size like this:
tape -a 1024 setblk {device-name}
then you have to also set the block size to the SAME number of byte
before you run the prorest command.
If you don't set the tape block size accordingly or you set a variable
block size by specifying a block size of zero, you will get the error
1120 when restoring your database.
A better way to improve the transfer speed to your tape backup device
is to use the probkup blocking factor parameter -bf
Using the -bf parameter is advantageous because you don't need to use
operating system tape command.
