Actuate Reportcast LRX Web Encyclopedia setup
INTRODUCTION:
=============
This Kbase gives tips, tricks and hints to get the Actuate
web-stuff (version 3) up and running.
PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
Assuming that you have webserver, progresserver and reportserver
installed.
This example is based on a NT installation and NT webserver
Install the Webagent called Iis(iis)(I used the default options).
When you follow the installation notes that follow the report cast
package, you now get to point 3.2 Configuring...
It is important to do exactly what the notes say, no more no less.
Next is the confirmation of a successful installation.
If you haven't changed any names on the servers, the connect should
be: http://hostname/acweb/hostname
(both webserver and reportserver is named after the host as default)
Same goes for the authentication. If the reportserver is default
gonfigured, then the only authentication valid is administrator
without password.
From the administrator desktop you set up a folder.
In the folder you then publish a .rox based on html.
You do that with the wizard by marking the "create an HTML report"
in tab 6.
You should now be able to go in to the browser and request
the .rox to be regenerated.
If you want to browse through .roi reports in the web browser you
need to install the LRX plugin.
In the Web Encyclopedia there is a link to a download area.
In there you find the plugin's.
Choose the one that match your browser and install.
If you get a message that the MFC42.dll could not be loaded,
you can rename the one you find in winnt/system32 and then reinstall.
The LRX installation installs a newer version.
The LRX's can also be found on the CD.
