SYMPTOM(s):
Problem after upgrading Digital UNIX version 4.00B to 4.00D.
Progress cannot run because of a library version mismatch.
CAUSE:
Pre 4.00B versions of Digital UNIX used the libcurses.so library with version OSF.1. Version 4.00D has the new XPG4 version of the libcurses library. Progress cannot use this library with version 8.2, and so will abort with an error describing this.
FIX:
The fix is to install the "Nonconforming Curses Library", which is in the OSFOBSOLETE425 subset on the Digital UNIX 4.00D OS Disk.
