FIX:
There are four methods to determine the version you have.
- Method 1
Perform the following steps:
1) On your desktop, click on the Start Menu.
2) Choose Run.
3) Type winmsd.
4) Choose Okay.
5) Click on the Version tab:
The following kind of information appears (this is an example for windows NT)
Microsoft (R) Windows NT (TM) Workstation
Version 4.0 (Build 1381: Service Pack 5)
x86 Uniprocessor Free
nnnnn-nnn-nnnnnnnn-nnnnn (Windows NT
serial number)
Registered to:
Username
Company Name
- Method 2
Follow these steps:
1) Go to Start > Programs > Windows NT Explorer.
2) Select Help > about Windows NT.
- Method 3
1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2) Select Help > About windows NT.
NOTE: In methods 2 and 3, the serial number is not displayed nor is type of machine, but available memory is displayed.
- Method 4
1) From the Start Menu choose Run.
2) Type winver and press the OK-button.
