SYMPTOM(s):
SEARCH() function performance dropped suddenly for specific files
SEARCH() function performance was better for the same files, on the same file system, using the same PROPATH
CAUSE:
Since the Progress configuration was exactly the same before and after the performance drop was first seen, the probable causes are not directly related to Progress.
In the reported cases, this was traced down due to a hard drive that started failing and started reporting CRC errors
FIX:
Replace the bad hard drive
