SYMPTOM(s):
Getting error starting AdminServer error message listed in ads0.exp is:
Exception at Thu Sep 28 10:31:33 PDT 2006: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
Message (throw): Unable to load versioninfo.dll
Message (excp): Can't load library: /wrkdir/bin/versioninfo.dll
Error message does not list the Progress installation directory it lists the working directory of the installation as the location of the versioninfo.dll which is not correct.
CAUSE:
The Progress installation was copied from another installation and the configuration files were modified to reflect the new location.
Not all the files needed by the original installation were copied to the new location.
Many of the entires in the configuration files were no longer valid.
Many files are configured as part of the Progress Installation routine. If done manually, many steps may be missed causing random unknown failures.
FIX:
Use the Progress installation utility to install Progress.
Do not manually copy the Progress installation files and attempt to find all references that need to be updated.
The possibility is very high that some entry that is needed will not be added which will eventually cause a failure.
The possibility is very high that sections which are no longer needed will be left in the configuration files causing problems.
