SYMPTOM(s):

fmget error during operation of database:

SYSTEM ERROR: fmget: bad record or unknown value. (13)

614 message appears on startup:

A previous prorest <database-name> failed. (614)

CAUSE:

The fmget error 13 indicates that one of the schema records in the database (a record in the _File file, _Field file, etc.) is corrupted. This has been caused by a restore being done onto the production database of a probkup that had been interrupted. Prior to 91D, the database could then be opened and used, resulting in continued corruption. With 91D that series of steps (restoring an interrupted probkup onto a production database and then being able to use it) is no longer possible - errors occur when the database is started.

FIX:

1. Go to your last good backup, i.e. not the probkup that was interrupted.
2. In future, ensure when restoring a backup that it is a valid backup.
