-directio opens 2 file descriptors & closes only one.
In version 7.3E, the -directio option opens two file descriptors and
only closes one. The remote connections get the following error:
Socket number <num> is too large; it cannot be greater than <num>.
(782).
The local connections get the following error:
SYSTEM ERROR: Too many files open. Cannot make a pipe. (359)
The user will run out of file descriptors at some point.
The problem is fixed in version 8. The user can either upgrade to
version 8 or eliminate the -directio option at startup.
