What kind of problems will be encountered having a hotspare database on the same machine as the live database

Backing up the database to the same box.
FIX:
The hotspare and the live database can reside on the same machine.
As long as they have different names there shouldn't be any shared memory issues as a result of having them on the same machine even if they are both running simultaneous.
