GOAL:
Is it possible to verify that -SQLTempDisk is set?
GOAL:
How can I check if SQLTempdisk was set?
GOAL:
How do I know if -SQLTempdisk has been set?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.x
OpenEdge 10.1x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
There is no output message, from broker or SQL, in OpenEdge 10, to confirm the startup parameter has been set or changed. One roundabout way to check is to use the -t parameter at startup to allow temporary files to be visible. Then it is possible to see the files that start with MM and see how much disk space is used.
In OpenEdge 10.1A or later, except for the most unusual circumstances, this startup parameter is not used. OpeneEdge 10.1A or later has different internal temp data management, which does not use this parameter. However, if it is set on startup in these newer versions, the database log file, db-name.lg, will show the setting at startup as -SQLTempStoreDisk.
