Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Database won't restart after shutdown for backup.
Shared memory in use by another process. (1260)
Using proshut -by to stop the database.
_proapsv processes still running
Able to restart database after removing these processes
CAUSE:
The _proapsv processes are still connected to the shared memory and have not yet terminated.
FIX:
Either add a asbman -stop to the database shutdown script prior to the proshut command or change the proshut to issue a -F (Emergency Shutdown) instead of a -by (Unconditional Shutdown).
