GOAL:
When crash recovery fails, does restarting the database continue crash recovery from the point where it previously failed?
FIX:
No, it will not continue from where it previously failed.
If the database is going through the crash recovery phase during database startup and for some reason the database crashes, when the database is restarted it needs to first backout any changes that it had made during the failed recovery phase, and then it will re-start the previous crash recovery from the beginning.
